Dr Steve Davies MD FRCP
Consultant Endocrinologist and Diploma/Msc Director
Dr Davies is a Consultant Endocrinologist at the University Hospital Wales. He has an established reputation in medical education particularly online learning, having been the founder of OnExamination.com and having set up other diploma courses. He has also been involved in establishing training courses for weight management in community pharmacy. His clinical interests include hypogonadism, growth hormone deficiency and obesity. He has published over 100 peer reviewed publications and his research interests include the application of novel technologies in delivering medical education.
Dr Allyson Lipp PhD, MA social ethics, MSc Social Science Research, RN.
Principal lecturer, University of Glamorgan
Allyson is principal lecturer in care sciences. The focus of Allyson's research and teaching is evidence based practice and this was the basis for her PhD. She has written systematic reviews on a number of subjects with the Cochrane Collaboration and teaches these techniques at all academic levels. Her current research involves a feasibility randomised controlled trial of a mechanical device for female urinary incontience and a systematic review into off-loading devices for diabetic foot ulcers. This interest in research has led Allyson to become a member of the Research Risk Review Group for a Local Health Board as well as a member of South East Wales Local Research Ethics Committee.
